Cramps. Leaks. Rashes. Itchy pads. That constant feeling of worry every time you move or sit down. If you’ve menstruated, you know exactly what this feels like – and so did our founder. Tired of spending every period week juggling disposable pads, constant bathroom runs, and painful irritation, she finally asked: “Why is this still the norm? Don’t we deserve better?”
In a world of smart devices and self-driving cars, menstrual care was still stuck in the past — wasteful, uncomfortable, and full of compromises. At just 18, she discovered something the Nepali market hadn’t yet heard of: Period underwear – reusable, comfortable, and leak-proof.
With no brand in Nepal offering it, she made a bold decision: If it didn’t exist, she’d create it.
The Birth of Flowy
After two years of trial, and error, and relentless research, Flowy was born in 2019 – the first brand to introduce reusable period underwear in Nepal.
Even our early prototypes were revolutionary:

- Easy to wash and wear again
- Free from plastic, perfumes, and discomfort
Our first users didn’t just give feedback – they gave fuel.

When Dilisha Shrestha set out to create Nepal’s first-period underwear brand, she wasn’t just building a product – she was sparking a movement. As a bold and passionate changemaker, Dilisha is on a mission to redefine menstrual health in Nepal and open up conversations around reproductive wellness that have been silenced for far too long. From menstruation and postpartum to menopause, she believes every woman deserves to feel heard, informed, and empowered. In a society where periods are still treated as taboo, Dilisha dared to ask: “What if we could make period care truly comfortable, sustainable, and stigma-free?” Her answer became Flowy – a brand born out of lived experience and relentless purpose.
